can someone help with the tiredness and pain?

This is **** - i actually feel healthy for once, except for the aches/pains, headaches, tired - so tired i could fall asleep at my desk if i wanted to. i've noticed my pains are worse in the morning/night - cold weather doesnt help - it's started  in the wrists and back of arms now. Baing tired is pain, i got home last night from work and had to collapse on the bed and just laid there for 3 hours before i could get up to eat, it feels like my body is not registering things properly or my brain - One thing thats new, i woken up quite a few times and cant remeber what day it is - it takes me around 5 mins to remember - i think it's cause i'm really tired - not sure though

Can anyone help give any suggestions on what to do, just until i can get to the doctor (maybe few weeks)

Hi Cynthia,

Your symptoms sound more like CFS symptoms, rather than fibromyalgia symptoms.

Per the Centers for Disease Control:

A CFS diagnosis should be considered in patients who present with six months or more of unexplained fatigue accompanied by other characteristic symptoms. These symptoms include:

cognitive dysfunction, including impaired memory or concentration
postexertional malaise lasting more than 24 hours (exhaustion and increased symptoms) following physical or mental exercise
unrefreshing sleep
joint pain (without redness or swelling)
persistent muscle pain
headaches of a new type or severity
tender cervical or axillary lymph nodes
sore throat
Other Common Symptoms

In addition to the eight primary defining symptoms of CFS, a number of other symptoms have been reported by some CFS patients. The frequency of occurrence of these symptoms varies among patients. These symptoms include:

irritable bowel, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea or bloating
chills and night sweats
brain fog
chest pain
shortness of breath
chronic cough
visual disturbances (blurring, sensitivity to light, eye pain or dry eyes)
allergies or sensitivities to foods, alcohol, odors, chemicals, medications or noise
difficulty maintaining upright position (orthostatic instability, irregular heartbeat, dizziness, balance problems or fainting)
psychological problems (depression, irritability, mood swings, anxiety, panic attacks)
jaw pain
weight loss or gain

I noticed that you live in New Zealand. If you google, "co-cure.org"  + "good doctor list"... you can find their link to physicians around the world who know about CFS. I checked and they do list physicians in New Zealand !!!  = )

Keep in touch... you are in my thoughts & prayers,

PlateletGal

It sounds like you could be getting more CFS symptoms. Can you list ALL of your symptoms and be sure to be specific and include everything. That will be able to help us try to figure it out.
