could hiv be mistaken for fibromyalgia

i have had back pain as well as widespread pain throughout most of my body for about 8 months , i was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 3 months ago.
i am a gay male 22 and may have had a "high risk" sexual episode about a year ago and was tested six months later showing up negative . about a month ago i had contact with an aids positive male for about ten seconds unprotected oral and  now for the past 2 weeks having diareha all the time and headaches .... is it possible to have symptoms this early / what are the risks or oral sex with a positive person (recieving) ..../ could my fibromyalgia be hiv ?

Hey Dan, welcome to the forum.

I don't know enough about AIDS and HIV to evaluate this well, however, I know that the risk is low in receiving oral sex even if only for 10 secs, when there are no cuts or open sores on your penis.
That does not mean zero risk, it's  just very low.
Also the timeline in regards to your FMS dx being HIV instead, does not work, unless your negative test was inaccurate.
Please continue getting tested regularly and if possible go for some
counselling, as your high risk sexual  behavior, puts you at an even higher risk category, compared to other gay men, who respect "the rules of engagement" in their sexual activities.
Yes, I've heard it many times, "it doesn't feel the same", or "I was high",
or "it was a moment of weakness" or "he lied to me-I didn't know".
It may only take one "slip" to potential destroy your life, or someone else's!
Please always keep this in mind.

I don't mean to lecture you, nor to criticize you for your orientation and lifestyle. I have friends who are LGBT and I wish for all true happiness
and good health. People have to put up with me, as I'm a huge proponent of
healthy lifestyles and wellness, using natural means and prevention.
At the end, I only do it because I care.

The cold sore and HIV connection to my opinion, would apply to a higher risk of  getting HIV, as it is easier to get in the body, specially if you have an open sore. So avoid questionable and unsafe encounters, period.

Maybe post at the STD or HIV community as well, the only thing is that
perhaps most members there are not familiar with fibromyalgia.

Best wishes and I hope your test results come back negative.
