fibro pain

I've had fibro for 2 years. Lately I've been having pain in my legs really bad. The more I'm on them the worse they are. They've been swelling some too. I don't know if this is attributed to my fubro or if my fibro is just making something else worse. Any insight would be appreciated.

aching legs is a major problem for me.  I also seem to retain fluid in my legs---I have bulgy knees and you can see the indentations from my socks when I take them off---bought some nice, soft diabetic socks-----no more indents on my legs in the evening.  I have never figured out why my legs get hurting so much at night.

I am trying an alternative treatment for my fibromyalgia.  I started the guaifenisen protocol in January.  It wasn't hard for me to cut out the salycilates because i don't use very many products.          When i hit my clearing dose, I fell asleep trying to sen a text, woke up 2 hours later, and felt like I had been run over by a freight train.  I have woken in the mornings feeling like that ---but never 2 hours after falling asleep.

I have had to switch to a different brand of long acting guaifensisen---and it has really slammed me.  it put me into so much pain---and it hardly let up.  I finally had to stop taking it to give myself a break.  the pain let up after 3-5 days.    It was miserable, but it took away any doubts I had of whether or not the guai works.    I am so sick of living on narcotics just to function.  I am looking forward to the day that the guaifensisen has cleared my body enough so that I don't need so much pain medication.

I know there have been people that have thought guai doesn't work.  well, it doesn't work fast.  I expect to feel ups and downs for several years and eventually feel mostly just the ups.

Hi specialkisskel. Welcome to forum.

Thinking outside the Fibro...box, may be more beneficial to you.

You are not likely to find useful answers  by looking into
worsening or new symptoms attributed to fibro.

Conventional medicine does not address fibro very well, a syndrome
where there're no established causes (only suspicions) and no cure
(only  maintenance drugs if and when they work).

As Caryopteris( who offered some good suggestions) mentioned, more history details are needed.
Medications, weight, height, age, diet, tests with results including lab ranges, other diagnosis etc.

Also you may want to go to a thread for alternative and natural things you can do to help with fibro, which I started here a while back.
Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the top left side of this page
and search under "IWILLDOTHIS".

Cheers!
Niko

You don't give enough history, such as your age and whether you are on medications.  If you are not on certain cardiac meds you should take magnesium 500 mg every morning and calcium 400 mg and vitamin D 2000 IU at night.  B vitamins are also needed.  Get some sunshine.  Eat vegetables and cut way back on sugar.  Eat only small amount of lean meat.  Try soaking in a bath with Epsom salts.  Walk for exercise.  Try yoga or Pilates.

I will send you an article on diet  for fibromyalgia.
