I would see another doctor if it were me.
If you buy the B-Complex or B12 capsules, they don't absorb as quickly as the drops. I would recommend either getting the B12 injections (by a physician) or the drops. I know you can purchase the drops at any Walgreens.
I assume he checked b12 and folate levels???? You can get neuropathy from these levels being too low. Are you anemic? Usually low iron means people are anemic. If he doesn't want to refer you what does he think you should do? These type of symptoms are difficult to pinpoint a cause. I've been looking for almost 2 years now. No definite answers.
B12 and folate were a little low bad not bad. Iron came back as 'alert.' I don't know if that makes me anemic but I have been low on iron for years I suspect.
The dr. didn't suggest I do anything and I assume it is because he thinks I'm some kind of hypochondriac because I kept insisting I had ALS. I got off to a bad start in all this.
I'm going to start taking some kind of iron suplement (that he recommended) and see what happens. I doubt it will change all this since I can trace some of the pain (knees and hips) back for years.
I'm going to try and find my way to a rheumatologist
I forgot to say my iron came back very low. I've heard that this is unusual with fibro does anyone know anything else?
