lymph node swelling?

Most of my pain is on my left side of my body. Underneath my left arm in the arm pit region feels like something is swollen. I can feel another one on the other arm, but whatever it is on my left side is bigger. Is it a lymph node maybe? Is this common with fibro?

does it extend? I don't think so, but then again I am still not sure if what I am feeling is lymph nodes or not.  Today I have had tons of cold sensations in my left arm and left lower back an ribs.

Just caught up with some posts here......

Out of curiosity, does your swelling nodes under arm extends to your breast area?
If so, I've had ever since day one of ME/CFS......sometimes, it pains so much it is tender to the touch.

That said.......our breasts tissue also extends all the way to underarm.  If you have breast fibrosis, it could just that.  Stay away from caffein, so I was told.  Easier said than done.  I love my morning Cup of Joe.

If it is scaring you out of your wits.......you should go have it checked just in case.
Mine was checked by my GYN.

Oh, a foot note, I don't think fibro prefers one side  or the other......most of my tender points are identical from both sides of my body.  Just thought you might want to know.

Have a gentle day.

EBV stands for Epstein Barr Virus and an ANA test helps rule out an autoimmune condition.

What is EBV or ANA? I have alot of the same symptoms. My last blood test showed a high white blood cell count but the doc thought it was a urinary tract infection even though I told him I felt fine down there. He had me give a urine sample and it showed bacteria so he put me on antibiotics which I didn't finish. I sometimes wonder if I have some sort of horrible infection. Other times I just wonder if it is fibro. I have pains and aches and cramps and such on the other side of my body but most of the time it is concentrated at my left side. I don't know if what I am feeling is a lymph node or not because I am unsure where they are located. The cold sensations on both sides of my body are increasing though.

"ok prior to that i had been told i have post viral symptoms"

Has your rheumatologist tested your for EBV ? And you have had an ANA titer done ? Also.... have you asked your rheumatologist if it thinks it would be a good idea to do a biopsy on one of your swollen lymph nodes?

Fibro is exactly the opposite.  It favors all 4 quadrants of the body.  Above and below the waist.  Get that nodule removed.  See another doc about your problem with your lymph.  It could also be a sweat gland that is clogged.  Either way and I cannot stress this enough...GET IT CHECKED OUT!  Don't just have someone look at it...actually have them deal with it and tell you what it is.  They may have to do a biopsy, they may not but you ave to do something other wise you're just going to stress out about it.

I thought fibro tended to favor one side over the other? I do have pains and cramps and such on the right side, just not near as often as the left side. I went to the cardiologist who gave me a clean bill of health and my endo did a ton of bloodwork and only found that my thyroid was basically  not working. My biopsy of my thyroid nodule showed atypical cells which is a suspition of malignancy but not certain. It is also on my left side. I showed my ent surgeon the lymph node in my neck/jaw area yesterday and he said it was nothing to worry about. I am still not sure if the area I am feeling is a lymph node. It is lik at the bottom of my armpit in the upper rib area.

I understand you feelings.  However when lymph nodes are swollen there is something making them swell.  You must go see your doc asap...it most likely won't go away on its own.  And not to scare you but swollen lymphs can also be a sign of cancer.  Since everything is happeneing on only one side of your body it may not be Fibro.  Take my advice and go to your doc and get a full check up and blood panel just to be on the safe side.

How big are lymph nodes under your arm? It actually feels like a swollen tendon or something. I just can'tt be sure. I am pretty sure I feel the same thing on my right side, only smaller. I have such weird feelings in my left side, tingling burning but also kinda cold feelings. Sometimes pain and cramps. It is just so uncomortable. The lymph node on the left side of my neck is also swollen so maybe I am fighting an infection. I am so confused. What happened to those days when I had no worries about my health and everything was peachy keen? :(

More than likely that is a lymph node.  This implies that there is some sort of infection.  You should go to your doc asap because it could be something serious.  It could be many things but I am not sure it has anything to do with FM.  Sorry I can't help more but do go to your doc asap.
