I used to take Tramadol for the pain and it did relax me but did not really take the pain away. I then took Darvocet for awhile and then had to have open heart surgery so then I started on Vicodin and have needed it ever since. My right side has never been the same with back pain radiating around to my right side so this is my dilemma. I still need pain medication and my doctor is willing to give them to me. I have several other conditions that result in my feeling bad so I think this is why he still approves these meds for me and I need them.

My doctor has prescribed Tramadol for the pain.  I have always taken 150 mg in the morning and possibly a second dose of 100 mg a day.  Anyone take something different that helps besides OTC?
Thanks
