POSITIVE TESTS, CAN IT BE TRUE?!!!

POSITIVE TESTS, CAN IT BE TRUE?!!!

I tested positive with 3 dollar store pregnancy tests  (ll) and one Clearblue (+)!  I am on day 32 of my cycle and used Clomid 100mg in December. I am having a hard time believing it!  We had been trying for 2 1/2 years.  I called my doctor today and they said to come in Feb. 2nd for pelvic exam, bloodwork, etc. Does that seem extremely far away?!  I asked if I needed a blood test now to know for sure and they told me that since I got a positive with first morning urine that I AM PREGNANT! Is this normal practice?  To wait about 9 weeks from the first day of your last period before seeing the doctor?  What about pre-natal vitamins?  Should they have told me to start those?  I am extremely excited but dont know how it all works.  This is my first!  Any information would be wonderful, thank you!

That does sound a bit odd to me, as well. When I did a home test which was positive, I called my OB/GYN and was given an appointment the next day. They had me bring in my morning pee and confirmed that I was pregnant, did a quick exam and started me on prenatal vitamins.
Perhaps they are more relaxed these days or maybe the word should be "lax."
Personally I think I'd consider shopping around for a new OB/GYN. Considering that you are 2 months into your first trimester and have not seen your OB...........I find that very questionable on your doctors part.

Congratulations! I had my first when I was 31, too. I think it's a great time of life to raise a child.
Peace

Thank you for your reply. My doctor did start me on vitamins and I now read a lot of doctors don't see you until 8-10 weeks pregnant. They said if I came in now they would just do the same kind of test that I did at home. They can tell more by the bloodwork and exam at that stage also. I will see how I feel about them when I go in, and I can hardley wait!!!

Thanks. That makes me feel better. I used to take prenatals in case I got pregnant, but we had been trying so long that when they ran out I switched to women's mulitvitamin an we were going to take a break for a while. Then, surprise!
