How worried should I be about my cold sore?

I stared getting cold sores a few years ago. Since I had my first baby (3 months ago) it seems like I have been breaking out constantly! I've become SO paranoid after reading about newborns dying after catching a cold sore. I am on a prescription, I am not kissing my baby and I am washing my hands about 1000x a day. My question is IF my 15-week-old somehow catches it from my husband or I, how dangerous is it at this point? I have spent most of my baby's life so far being SO worried and sick about these stupid things and am wondering when I can finally relax a little bit about the whole thing? Thank you!
