tortoise

i got tortoise in my village..clour:black. and has very small tail..may be female..since bringing her here its been 2months approx but she istn having any thing.. I guess cause wen i put her in tub filled of water in night with some chooped corrinder...she doesnt seems to hav it but still i can see there is some whitish material present in water  ?so do it eats any thing?and when sholud i keep it in water in day time or nightb time? how should i serve her food?
i dont want to kill da little totriose..is der any chnce to make him, pet?or else i hav to late him go in my village?
