Ankle Pain

What would be the best option to do if you have a ligament injury, a small achilles spur, bone heel spur, and fluid in my ankle? The podiatrist that I saw put me in a walking boot to see if that would help with the problems in my ankle. My ankle is still throbbing pretty badly even when the walking boot on and it still swells up when I do any walking. Would it be best to have surgery to correct the problem or keep wearing the walking boot for 2 weeks?

I injured my ankle back in September of this year and the doctor said at first it was just a bad ankle sprain and that I stretched my ligaments, so he put me into an ankle brace for 2 months. Except for the last couple of months, my ankle has not seemed to get any better and it is hurting really badly, that is when he sent me in to have an MRI done on December 7th. Two days later, I got the results back and that is when he told me what was wrong. He gave me an option to wear the boot for 2 weeks to see if that would help my ankle or have surgery to correct the problem. He doesn't recommend me to go the physical therapy, because he thinks that would make it worse than what it is. I have received 2 cortisone injections and have tooken an anti-inflammatory and they only worked for a couple of days and then it started to act up and start swelling again really badly to the point that I couldn't walk on it. What should I do? Even with the boot on, I still have the same problem that I had before.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
wear the boot for several weeks and go to physical therapy for iontophoresis.
the boot should help take the pressure off the area.  in addition, an anti-inflammatory can help as well.
if the pain continues, i would recommend surgery.
