Long-lasting tick bite

Last April, I experienced a tick bite on my right ankle. I noticed it after a shower - a black spot.  After speaking with a few people, I pryed it out with a pair of tweasers. It was still alive. I applied an antiseptic and thought my problems were over. Since last April, the site shows a 3/8" brown spot with a sort of "tiny white head", has been itchy, and periodically painful (Right ankle and foot hurt). Is it possible that I missed some of the tick? I've had this problem long enough. What do you recommend?

get tested for lyme disease.
the area needs to be shaved down to remove what is left behind or else your body will continue to attack it.
