Peroneal Tendon issue? Related to calf issue?

At the end of August this year, I was chasing my two-year-old and ended up rupturing a ligament in my calf. I believe it was the gastrocnemius, but definitely not my achilles tendon. I went to a walk-in, and the Dr told me to try and rest it when I could, but suggested nothing else. The pain was mainly on the inside part of my right calf, about half-way up. I hobbled around for a few weeks, and the pain is mainly gone now, unless I do a lot of walking. I have a bit of a dent where the Dr said the tendon snapped, and it still seems a bit swollen, but nothing major. About two weeks ago, I noticed that the area underneath my right ankle bone (the distal side) has started to hurt, mainly when I turn my foot sideways (so the outside edge of my foot is touching the ground; I tend to do this when I sit). It's an unusual pain, and it feels like some kind of tendon too. The sensation is one of extreme tightness, and seems to run directly underneath my outside ankle bone. What I'm wondering is, could this be related to my calf injury? I don't see how, but it started after I had the injury, and I've done nothing else to hurt myself. I would understand if the pain was from limping and guarding my calf, but I haven't been limping since the 'new' pain started.

Could anyone offer any insight? I'm terribly non-athletic, so I've never experienced any type of 'sports injury' before.

you need to get an MRI to assess the tendons.  when a tendon is weak or torn, the other tendons have to overwork, which could cause new pain.
if your torn tendon did not heal correctly, you will always risk rerupturing it with increase in activity.  it would behoove you to have this checked and fixed if needed to prevent further longterm complications.
