foot pain mystery

I have had pain in my right foot for almost a month now and it hasn't gotten any better. The top of my foot is swollen and I am in pain when I walk. The toe right next to my big toe also hurts when I walk. Just recently I started feeling fluid when I walk on it and whenever I cough/sneeze pain radiates to my foot. I am not pregnant, and medicines are not working. The Dr'.s could not find the problem, however I do have an appointment with a specialist soon but wanted to see if there were any suggestions as to what may be causing this. Thank you.
