heel spurs

I just had xrays and it showed small heel spurs on my right heel.  It's very painful to deal with.  I've been waitressing for 21 years and this just happened about two months ago.  Atleast i just started feeling the pain two months ago.  I've tried ice and that did help along with orthotics.  I don't know if i should have surgery or not due to my job.  I hear it's a very painful recovery but if it will solve the problem, i'll do it.  What do you think?

don't do the surgery.  i recommend getting orthotics and a cortisone injection.
also, do calf stretches.
lastly, make sure you wear supportive shoes like running sneakers.  if your shoes are more than 1 year old, get a new pair.
