orthotics

My podiatrist has made half insoles for me. They are a little on the wide side and I am having probs finding any shoes that would fit them comfortably.

Would it be ok for me to put the half insole over the insole that is already attached to the shoe and not use the top insole that he gave with the othortics. If I put these insoles in with my orthotics the shoe is too small.
