purple near my toe;worried

Last night in my room , im not clear if I stepped on something or bumbed my toe (on the outer side) ....the pain felt like glass but there wasn't any I think...today as im taking a shower I notice the area near my toe is purple with pink....im scared because I don't know why its like that, typicall when glass goes in a foot, you just pluck it out or it stays in and comes out eventually, but never does the area where theglass went in turn purple ...its about 2 inches of purple bruising

however, it sounds like you badly bruised your toe when you banged it.  you may have injured a vessel that could have bled, thus causing all the purple discoloration.  if it doesn't get better, go see a podiatrist.
