right foot acting 'funny'~~~no problem with left foot??

Both my feel look and feel nearly identical when waking in the morning.  Toward evening, my right foot seems thicker on the top of my foot, over the small boney structure.  In the evening, after sitting on couch & watching TV, when I get up, nerves in my right foot make it painful to step, unless I curl my toes upward or walk on the outside of my foot.  I then twist my toes and massage my foot.  I wore sandles all day while gardening, and wonder if circulation was cut off while wearing these shoes, also wore other sandles to the grocery~~~the shoes have a wide piece of leather across the instep~~nothing at the heel~~slip on.  When I took them off, it looked like the top of my right was thicker than the left.  If it is the shoe~~~why not happen other times~~??? you may have swelling in one foot more than the other. it happens when the veins are incompetant in pushing fluids back up the leg.
if you wear certain shoes, it can push the fluid to areas where there is no pressure against the foot (where the shoes do not come in contact with the foot).  
compression stockings can help.  i would see a physician to make sure nothing else is occurring
