i have bad pains in the left side of my stomach

Hello,
I have very bad pains in my left side under the ribs. I have had acid problems and take pilex tablets. It hurts when i press it hard, i tend to relaese some gas, but i feel like being sick. i eat and sleep fine, it feels like a sharp pain hopefully nothing to serious. I was unsure what this could be and i was wondering if you would know or could give me some advice on what to do.
