My son is almost 10yrs old and is 100% fine with this intestinal problem and I'd say 90% fine with the reflux; comes with illness still.
There is a new pediatric ask a Dr. surgery Forum here at MedHelp .. here is the link:

Thanks for the input. We will be seeing a pediatric surgeon on the 18th to see what we are supposed to do with this cyst by her ovary. I have a ton of questions to ask so I will definitely ask about the correlation between the two refluxes and the cyst. So your son is ok now? I am hoping that all of this will resolve itself without any invasive procedures.
The answer is yes from what I've been told because my son was born with severe reflux, an intestinal duplication cyst and at birth had that bladder test done at 3 days old rule out any anomoly with his bladder, etc. He was fine. They told me there is a relationship among these items .. neurological, reflux, and late development (weak muscles, etc.).
I'm not a Dr., but my son was seen by a Urologist at age birth and then cleared after they were certain his kidneys and bladder were fine along with his private areas, too.

My daughter has both GI reflux and vur as well. I have asked her doctors if there is any corellation and never got a response. My daughter underwent deflux surgery at 12 months old and is currently on medication for gi reflux. Both have improved. I wish you and your family the best. Nicolegb
