ACID REFLUX ?????

hi, i just a quick question, i was wondering if i had acid reflux because for the past week or so, know matter what i eat or drink afterwards it burns from my throat down to my chest. and it can last for hours, i had tried tums and that doesnt even help. if its not acid reflux do u have idea what it could be?

Hi rebecca,
The symptoms you have mentioned are suggestive of GERD. Tums provides only temporary relief.

You can try PPI for better relief.
For the best results you need both PPI and life style modifications.
Discuss with your physician regarding this..

24/48 hours pH monitoring is the most definitive test for confirming GERD.
