Acid Reflux Surgery for my son

Acid Reflux Surgery for my son

I have a five year old son that has been dealing with Acid Reflux since birth. We have been through 5 different meds and he is now taking 60mg of Prevacid. We had a stomach probe one year ago  and at that time we were just told that it was bad. We went back to the doctor this week and we were finally told that the report showed that he refluxed 147 times in a 24 hour period. Two of the times lasted for 5 mins. and 1 time lasted for 10 min. After hearing what it takes to do the surgery, I am very scared. Do you have a suggestion that might keep us from surgery? In your opinion are we out of options? He is dealing also with asthma. I have noticed a pattern in the last five years. First his nose will start running, then his ears will drain yellow and greenish fluid, then he will start coughing. This is what I feel is due to his acid reflux. Are these surgeries successful?

Hi,
If GERD is not controlled with medications, then surgery is the next option.
Asthma could be due to severe GERD.
Surgery for GERD is quite effective.
There are other non-surgical techniques availabe like Stretta procedure.
