Acid Reflux in to my LUNGS

The other night I ate dinner later than usual, and fell asleep lying prone instead of proped up on my incline pillow. I woke myself up by inhaling acid reflux into my lungs. My question, It has been 2 days and I am still coughing somewhat and my chest feels a little sore. This is the only time I have done that, could this have serious consequences? I did not seek medical help as I dont know what could be done for it as long as I am still breathing.Thanks.

Hi,
Severe form of acid reflux can cause cough due to aspiration in to the lungs.
Controlling reflux with PPI will provide relief.
