I was told it would be a last resort thing, I've already had an endoscopy, and he said in my case not a good idea, it could cause problems swallowing. I've had it so bad at night, I've had an reflux induced asthma attack, scariest thing!  So I'm stuck and frustrated. I've had another night of bad reflux. I take 40mgs of Nexium and if it's really bad 80mgs. Sometimes that's not even enough, I'm good friends with Gaviscon, and if I get spasms I can take some ativan, I use for another condition. I used to take Prepulsid, but then they took it off the market for the scary side effects and people dying. I just about fainted when I heard that, but it was the only drug that helped that.

I would really ask if there would be any issues as a result of the surgery. I was told up front of the side effects, and chose not to do it. I do have a wedge pillow I use at night so I don't sleep flat, and I try for the most part not to eat anything at least 2 hours before bed, that does help.
