Asthma and Gerd

I have gone off the charts with asthma and gerd.  I have been hospitalized twice now in 2 mons for the asthma and now will be meeting with a gastroentrologist.  I would like to hear about the process of moving from treating the asthma and trying to treat the gerd.  Specifically the surgeries that I hear being talked about.
any help?
I have been dealing with extreme exacerbated asthma with more than multiple inhalers, allergy pills, nasal spray and multilple course of predinsone, pill and iv
Question:  what do I need to expect or ask of a gastroenterorlgoist and what are the surgieris?

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

It is possible that the meds u r on are a trigger for ur gerd...I do not know what u r on and I am not a dr, but if u ask a pharmacist they can tell u what u might expect and also if ne of the meds r reacting to each other.

I am not well informed on asthma, but I do know that post nasal drip will contribute to gerd....

U did not mention if u were on meds for gerd, again ask the pharmacist what meds might be best with the current asthma meds u r on.

Please keep us posted
