Babies and GERD

Hello

My son is currently 19 months old and he has been diagnosed with GORD which I'm assuming is the same as GERD. He was put on medication to see if it would clear up, but it hant worked at all. He is seeing a specialist gastroentologist tomorrow at POW hospital. They think they will have to perform another biopsy when he is two.

Jut wondering what happens if the mediaction hasnt done anything what happens from there?
They did say it would be a while before he recovered because of his insides being burnt from the acid.

He has asthma on top of this.

Thanks
Crystal

HI and welcome to the GERD forum.

Since he has asthma....i am assuming he has post nasal drip?

If so, u may want to do a saline nasal spray.....ask the drs

Also elevate the head of his bed and do stay away from trigger foods. Dairy being one of them.....since he is so young I am not sure what he is eating...ask his ped about safe foods for him to continue eating.
