Back Pain after eating

by ssiraj1, Nov 03, 2009 06:14AM
I am 29 yr male, I have problem that after eating meals (mainly lunch and dinner) feel stabbing pain at middle of back (both sides of spinal cord), I was feeling this kind of slight pain from last one year only after having dinner which was relieved after lying back or sleeping.

Three month past I felt severe pain at the back then I consulted a gastroenterologist. Before to this consultation the past month I had the refluxes at night during sleep and feel sour in the mouth.

Doctors did the upper GI endoscopy and diagnosed that I have linear erosion at the end of esophagus. Also I gone to full abdomen ultrasound scan in that everything found normal.

They concluded that I have GR-A OESOPHAGITIS, and given the tablets to reduce the hyperacidity (PPI's and Librax), initially if felt it was working and my pain in the back declines to some extent. But after next month again I have same symptoms like I had earlier, again I visited to gastroentrologist, and they given the same treatment and asked me to follow that the regimen (to take the meal  4-5 time small meals instead of 3 full meal) with prescription due to this I lost the weight up to 8 Kgs and feeling weakness. I am following the same regiment but it is not understandable that some time pain is little relieved and some time it got raised and now a days I feel consistent back pain and chest pain.

I would like to ask to the expert doctor that is there any therapy other than this or what would be the causative factor. Is the pain also due to some spinal chord problem.

I appreciate if any one can help me to out of these disease.

Hi...the only thing I can think of that might be an issue is...r u eliminating the amount u should everyday...if not u may need to talk to ur dr and u may have IBS.

Do talk to ur dr and know that u must eliminate the right amount each and every day for good colon health.

Ya.. I have no problem with the bowel movements it is regular. The symptoms is related to erosion in the esophagus not in the lower part (by which IBS occur).
