Burping

by BankerJohn, Nov 01, 2009 11:57AM
I have chronic burping and slight bloating with an unsettled feeling in my stomach.  I'm a colon cancer survivor, and had a resection almost six years ago.  My scans and other tests are clear, but the belching continues.  I'm wondering whether or not I could be swallowing air or somehow creating the condition that causes this.  I'm also curious about other conditions that might create these symptoms.  Thank you.

Hi,
One of the common causes of belching is swallowing air. Things that can be done for relief are-
1. Avoid talking, drinking while eating
2. Chew well while eating
3. Avoid carbonated drinks
4. Avoid gas forming food items like cabbage, beans, brocolli etc.
