GERD (ACID REFLUX) EXPERT FORUM
Can you give me advice?

Can you give me advice?

I had a Nissen Fundoplication about 10 years ago and have recently undergone an upper endoscopy with biopsies....I am experiencing unrelenting heartburn, belching, pain behind my breastbone, some regurgitation, and a severe change in bowel habits.  I was told that my surgery has come loose and that I have another hiatal hernia and that I now have Barretts Esophagus.  Should I consider a repeat Fundoplication?  Will I be able to have another one done laparoscopically or would it have to be open this time?  I am afraid of developing esophageal cancer now that I have Barrets.  I was told that we need to keep the acid out of my esophagus and am currently taking Zegerid, Zantac, and Reglan with no relief of my symptoms....please advise me on what options I may have.....
