Can you take Aciphex with prozac?

by LynnSB, Dec 16, 2008 05:00PM
I'm afraid I have rather severe GERD. I don't have insurance at the moment. I had an upper GI barium study several years ago that didn't find GERD but, by my symptoms, I was told I have it anyway.  I have heartburn but the worst is that I sometimes have severe pain on swallowing ( as if  pain starts when food hits the stomach, usually hard food like meat, chips). It actually feels as if something is stuck down in my stomach and if I keep eating somehow whatever is stuck opens up -- like a valve? I know this sounds crazy but that's what it feels like.I've wondered if I have some kind of lower esophogeal stricture.
I also have a lot of bloating.
Anyway, recently, both times after eating pita bread hard chips, I had pain and then my mouth seemed to absolutely fill up over and over with this watery-liquid.  I felt awful and threw up -- not much vomit, tiny bit of food, like a tablespoon, and the clear liquid stuff.  A doctor frien gave me aciphex samples which help my symptoms but I read on the web that it is dangerous to take this drug ( rabeprazole doeium delayed release) with prozac. Is this true?  I also have ( benign, according to doc) heart palpitations and am very sensitive to drugs. I'm hoping it is safe to tak ehte aciphex and stay on the prozac. I've tried Pepcid and it does absolutely nothing for me.  Thank you in advance for answer this.

Hi,
There are no drug interactions between aciphex and prozac and hence they can be taken together.
