Chronic Nausea is ruining my life!!

I am a 28 year old female who has never had stomach problems until about three months ago. Out of no where, I began getting horrible bouts of nausea almost every day. It seems like no matter what I do, I get nauseous. Almost every time I eat, I feel sick after...and yet if I don't eat, I feel sick then, too. I have cut down on caffeine and alcohol, thinking that they may have been irritating me...but that did not help either. I have never gotten motion sick before, but now anytime I am in a car or airplane, I get sick. Another thing that I have noticed is this weird feeling like I can't swallow. I will take a bite of food or a sip of a drink and I will have to hold it in my mouth for a few seconds before I can swallow. I have never vomited, but I often dry heave, sometimes a few times a day. Even though nothing comes up, I always feel better afterward, at least for a while. I have been taking Dramamine on a regular basis because it is the only thing that seems to help, but I do not know if that is ok to do and it makes me so sleepy...I hate it. I don't know what to do...it is making it very difficult for me to get through my day to day life. My kids are constantly wondering why I am sick all the time, my husband is worried too. I don't have health insurance, so it is hard for me to get in to see a doctor. Is this common? Is there anything that I can do differently that I am not already doing? Any medicine that I can take to help?

Hi! Try to take anti nausea medicine but most drug stores requires doctors prescription. You can still go to the doctor even without health cards or insurance try to visit a nearest public doctor in your local community and have a consultation. I am also a GERD patient.

Are you still getting extreme stomach aches?  Have you been to a gastroenterologist yet?  What other symptoms are you having?  Does the lump in your throat happen more at night?  Your symptoms are very familiar to me as I have been suffering from acid reflux and it all started from nauseau spells in the am.  I am guessing you are having acid reflux symptoms but need to know more specifics.  I had horrible stomach aches as well.  I went on a very strict diet and regimen and can maybe help you out.  Let me know as the doctors will all try to put you on medications but I would glad to help you and let you know which ones work best and what all might be occurring to the best of my knowledge.  I spent thousands on tests and all that did nothing for me as well so I hope that I can help and definately feel your frustration - been there myself.  Please let me know!  Thanks.KBell
