Constant bitter taste in mouth post Reflux Surgery

by indystar59, Apr 19, 2009 09:41AM
I had my third surgery the end of this past December.   I was doing very well, but the last week have developed a bitter taste in my mouth that doesn't go away.   I have tried taking antacids and that doesn't help.   I have lost weight due to the fact that nothing tastes good.   Would appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Thanks!!!

HI and welcome to the GERD forum.

May I ask, have u mentioned this bitter taste to ur dr?....I know it is normal to get the bitter taste after a surgery, but it should be short lived and is a result of the anesthisia.

If u have an acid stomach u may want to continue the antacids, but since it doesn't help maybe the bitter taste is not from that.

Please speak to ur dr and advise us of what u found out.
Good luck
