Constant feeling of something stuck in throat - LPR?
About 2 weeks ago, out of the blue, I started experiencing a feeling of a lump in my throat, kind of like a sensation of something being stuck in my throat, along with difficulty swallowing, and pressure sort of like I need to burp but can't. I have been to the ENT doctor and she diagnosed me with LPR (silent reflux) after looking down my throat with a tube. I have never had problems with heartburn in my life before. She said my throat was very inflammed and prescribed 4 Prilosec per day and diet changes. I am 35 year old female, smoker, otherwise good health, and am not overweight. I have been following her instructions exactly and have been on the meds (which is a very strong dose) for 1 week now and feel horrible still. I can't eat, have lost 5 lbs. in the past week, can't sleep because I wake up in the middle of the night feeling like I am choking, and am getting really scared about this. I know panicking makes it worse but I honestly don't know what it wrong with me and no one else understands what I am going through. Wouldn't the meds be starting to make me feel better by now if it was really acid reflux? Please help, I am desperate for answers and relief.
