Does anyone know what could be happening with my three year old?

My son has been dealing with severe acid reflux since he was two weeks old.  At two weeks old he started to scream like no baby i had ever heard before.  He was in such pain. He would projectile vomit, he would get strangled by the reflux, I was scared to let him sleep by his self.  He would throw fits and at two weeks old when he went into a fit you had to fight to keep hold of him he would arch in a backwards C.  Finally at two months old he was diagnosed with acid reflux on account of his symptoms.  He started out on one half of 15 mg of prevacid, it helped for awhile then had to up the dose, Now at three we are at 40 mgs of nexium.  He has been hospialized three times in seven months with vomiting and dehydration no diarrhea just persistent vomiting that medicine wont stop, My poor baby seems sick all of the time...he just seems to get worse, he is fatigued, gets cold easy even if it eighty plus out.  He tires quickly anymore.  Could some thing else be going on other than the reflux...does anyone else with a history of reflux have anything similar?  Please Help

Thanks for all your helpful comments. I have taken him to a ped gi doctor, they wanted to do an endoscope on him when he was a year old but I wanted to wait to see if he would outgrow it.  He was due to have a upper gi scope on May 13 with a 24 hour probe, but the antistesiaologist would not put him under because he gets blue around his mouth and nose when he runs and short of breath so his regular doctor gave him an ekg and it was abnormal, so she sent him for an ultrasound of the heart and it was normal so she did not see a need to refer him to a ped cardiologist. Once they heard his history of that the antistesiologist would not put him under untill hes is cleared by a ped cardiologist.  So now we go see him June 3 and then if all goes well they will do the scope.

when i was a infant i suffered the same as you son and had to be fed through a gastric tube for 12months as my sphincter in my stomach wouldnt close(could be whats wrong with your son). Over time it went away and i didnt need surgery to fix it. 20yrs later its returned and ive been very sick like your son for 5weeks now. but theres is only a 1 in 3 chance of the surgery being successful so i found out wednesday. im now on nexium and dompiradome to settle the effects and lifestyle changes with bricks under my matress and no acidic food or drinks, no resting after ive eaten...

Have you taken your son to a ped gi dr? Maybe he has an eosinophilic disorder.  Our son had similar symptoms and was misdiagnosed with GERD until he was three.  At that point he was diagnosed with eosinophilic esophogitus.  Which is similar to GERD, but treated differently.  Ask you pediactric gastrointerologist about testing your son for this disorderd.  You can find more on the web.
