Does this sound like Gerd, can anyone relate to my symptoms?

Basically it started off with me having oral thrush told to me by the doctor, however I did get better but some of my symptoms stayed the same which were where I had a yellow tongue at times and the constant feeling of something in my throat. I went back to the doctor  to say I think I have oral thrush and she took a look and said I didn't. I told my aunt about this who suffers with Gerd and she said it sounded like it. Now I currently just have sometimes and irritated tongue and I do constantly feel as if something is stuck in my throat (sometimes stuff comes up and other times not. Sometimes it's just normal colour but other times yellow and brown or just yellow. I get a gassy stomach which sometimes hurts because of it. I had chest pains years prior to this which I believe may have been when I first may have got Gerd. Now I know I need to go to the doctor for confirmation which I am. However I obviously worry and lead myself astray to thinking it to be things such as cancer. Now I know if I have Gerd I know I need to get it sorted as my aunt's is pretty bad and it's left scarring and lumps which could turn into cancer. I also feel like constantly bunged up from it and recently started waking up with not a sore throat but definitely tickley and kind of like hoarse and I get a crokey voice.

I'm not familiear with oral flush. Google it, I got this link http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/oral-thrush/DS00408 , the symptoms are listed and should help you make a determination.  Ive had gerd / reflux for 35 years. Taking OTC meds would help you to find relief and know if reflux is possible.  Pepcid, Prilosec and others are common in the Rx stores. You should ask (phone) your doctor about otc brands. They should not be a problem if taken as directed. Pepcid types are quick acting, Prilosec will kick in a bit further in the day (hour or so), both should be taken daily. I find PPIs are more powerful, so you might start with the others.  I take mine before evening meal so it will last thru the nite.  I also have the top of my bed elevated 2 inches, it helps keep the relux fluid down in the stomach but sleeping is a new experience, you slide down during the nite. Pepcid is a H2-antagonist, Prilosec is a PPI, proton pump inhibitor, both reduce the secretion of acid. If you ultimately go on long term med for reflux be SURE to get generics, the cost is much lower and the meds are effective. A simple short solution is to take antiacid, Malox, Malanta, or house brand, all good but very short relief.  It is fast and will cut that gas pressure out, you should belch after taking a couple tablespoons and water.

I also found my stomach to be more calm when I ate less of certain things. Like I cut out milk which seems to irritate my throat, although my symptoms did not totally evaporate. This is all odd because this only came about after I was ill in feb. I dunno if this is just a random coincidence. I also do get chest pain but not always.
