Don't know where to start

Son 11 just diagnosed with acid reflex, on medication. Does vomit alot and trying to find out lunch and food suggestion. Been told by doctor no dairy, sugar, fruit juice, caffine. Tried soy, lactaid, still being sick and vomiting. Has anyone tried Goats milk or cheese. Dairy is his favorite food.

I am just learning about this and don't have alot of information. He's finding it difficult because foods he use to have we are taking away. I am trying to figure what he can drink besides water.

Yes, that long to show signs of healing and optimum help BUT CK with you DR on Pepto or Mylanta .. if he/she says ok just be certain to space it out.  Gaviscon is another good one to ask about ..it acts as a barrier bcz you still may get the acid coming up but it will be neutralized and not hurt/burn ... the Gaviscon will still help to protect the esohagus.

Hello,

Goat's cheese can be tricky because it does come from an animal and can be closely related to milk.  Therei s a product called Rice Dream out there .. they also make it in ice cream.   They also make dairy free cheeses.

Lactaid has removed the lactose .. lactose is the milk sugar part of the milk;  Thus, he still may react to it because it contains what is called Lactose which is the milk protein.  It is the protein causing the problems most likely .. so drinking Lactaid has confirmed most likely he is not lactose intolerant/allergic but caseine .... so I'd avoid milk.

I have a 10yr old going thru similar issues rigth now ...

Be careful as many of the foods have hidden dairy in them .. there are symbols on the packaging to look for.

It does take upwards of 3weeks to rid the body of milk .....

I think others may have other ideas to help you along ....

Other triggers:
Chocolate
Caffeine

What med is on .. be careful to space it out with any Pepto or Mylanta so it is fully absorbed by the body.
