Dry mouth

I've been taking Nexium 40 mg. for about 4 years with no side effects. I was recently switched by my doctor to the generic brand Esomprazole Magnesium & have a very dry mouth. Is it possible it is from the generic med?

The dosage is the same and I will take your advice and talk to my Pharmacist about how the drug was compounded. Thank you so much for your time!

Hi. and welcome to the GERD forum.

It may be possible something in the generic med could be causing the issue..talk with the Pharmacist at your Pharmacy as to how the generic was compounded....I doubt it is the active ingredient as most times they are the same....

Is the dosage the same?....Maybe you need to step back on the meds...?

Talk to your Dr as some changes to your condition may be changing.....
