Dueodenitis

Hello,

Question is.  I was diag. with dueodenitis (in 2007) and have imflamation.  I do not believe I am absorbing nutrients because I'm also on synthroid, vit d, calcuim all for thyroid removal......but all those level are low and deleoped ostropena, vit d is like 14 should be above 30, tsh .001 on large does of synthroid.

I get pains from drinking water at times and eating.

I was not given a plan or diet for the dueodenitis but is there a diet I should follow?  Some of the pain happened after car accident.....but I've had problems drinking water all my life (age 29, F).

I was also symptomatic of gallbladder problems and they wanted to remove but I did not have it removed.

thank you.

Hi,
Pain during swallowing has to be investigated.
An upper GI endoscopy has to be done.Sometimes an esophageal manometry might be needed.
Duodenitis is mainly due to H.pylori infection or NSAID use
Regarding the diet, you need to avoid spicy food, cola, citrus drinks, carbonated drinks, tea, coffee.

Doctor,

Thank you much.  Would there be a reason while I get stomach pains when drinking plain reverse osmosis water? I did have a EGD and was only told of the dueodenitis but then had pains symptomatic of gallbladder and they wanted to remove it but after a horrible TT thyroid removed I really don't want this.

So I should follow the GERD diet, anything needed to get rid of the  H.pylori if it is there....I was on a lot of NSAIDS because of a bad car accident.  Will Probotics help out in this if it is H. pylori or from teh NSAIDS (which I do not take now).  But this has been 3 years.

Thanks again.
