GERD & shortness of breath

Is it possible for GERD to cause shortness of breath?  I have acid reflux and am currently taking Nexium.  For the past month I have been having shortness of breath in which I have had numerous tests done and currently they are working on pulmonary causes.  The strange thing is that with this shortness of breath I noticed that when I burp I feel release and am able to take a good deep breath.  If there is any information that you can give that would be great.

Hi,
Shortness of breath is one of the manifestations of GERD. GERD over a period of time can cause even asthma.
PPI along with life style modifications would be helpful.
