I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH GERD. BUT MY ONLY SYMPTONS IS A COUGH AT VARIOUS TIMES.
TAKING PRILOSEC HELPS ALOT, BUT I AM AFRAID TO STAY ON THIS MEDICATION FOREVER. I AM AFRAID OF GETTING TUMORS OR OTHER INFECTIONS. IS THERE ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS DIAGNOSIS?

Hi,
There are a few symptoms of GERD which are not related to esophagus and these include cough, sore throat, horaseness of voice , dental erosions etc.
Prilosec is a safe medication which provides wonderful relief from GERD symptoms. The only time it should not be taken is when women who takes it get pregnant.

i take prilosec been on it now 3 years no [problems take everyday cant live with out it . i dont cough but i know a few that it does them that way. i have bad heartburn and where i feel full and lots air in chest. but only have thoses when under stress/anxiety like today. so its not helping eating rolads to with it . i ask my dr if its safe to take he said yes so i not worry maybe i should than more hurt/air/heartburn.
