Gallbladder stay in or out

I had a HIDA SCAN in June 07 and the ejection fraction rate was 77%, I was have acid reflux symptoms so my doctor put me on Protnix for a few months.  In October I woke up with pains in my stomach and very nasuea with dry heaves I went to the ER they did a Ultrasound and it was normal and said it was gastritis a few days later I had the same symptoms again I had and Endoscopy, Upper GI with small bowel follow through, Gastric Emptying Scan, CT SCAN with contract, bloodwork everything normal but I still had my symtpoms.  I wake up in the middle of the night with nasuea and sometimes vomit stomach acid I have lost 11 pounds.  The GI doctors sent me for another HIDA SCAN and this time the ejection rate was 40%, so he sent me to a surgeon and I am scheduled to have my gallbladder out.  I am just afraid that I will still have the naseua after I have it out but that is the only thing they have found.  I just hope this is the fix for my symtpoms.

My daughter was 11 yrs old and suffered for almost a year, her HIDA scan showed a 5% extration rate.  We immediately had the surgery and hoped her pains would go away.  She did not have gallstones but cholystitis (inflammed gallbladder)   She is still suffering a year later, but now she is suffering from Severe Bile Reflux.  I would give it careful consideration and opt for open surgery instead of laproscopic as we did.  I have read that most injuries during gallbladder surgery occur from laproscopic method.    Also you may want to see if you have reflux problems vs gallbladder problems.  I am not a doctor, but have learned that no surgery is to be taken lightly and there are certainly no guarantees to anything.   Some people have great results and others dont.   GOOD LUCK

Hi Chen60,
You have undergone almost all the necessary tests and all except HIDA are normal.
You can have your gallbladder removed. You may find improvement.

Since you have heart burn also, you can consider having pH monitoring test done and also liver function test if that has not been done
