Gasteroparesis or not?

Hi,
I have been suffering symptoms of GERD but they have not been alleviated by any medications! Here are my symptoms:
-regurgitation (multiple times a day often)
-acid taste in mouth and throat
-esphogus spasms
-nausea

Now my doctor wants me to have a test for gasteroparesis but I often feel hungry still after meals and don't have constipation so I don't think this could be it, does anyone have advice? Thanks!

Doesn't sound like gastroparesis. I have that condition due to hypothyroidism and i'm full very quickly. My mother no longer suffers GERD as she takes digestive enzyme supplements (helps with digestion and helps prevent reflux) and betaine HCI with pepsin (had severely low stomach acid - acid blockers are not the answer!). Also check for H Pylori bacteria (causes acid reflux) and make sure your magnesium is optimal - deficiency is another cause of reflux.

maybe ask to have a ph probe done to see how much reflux you are actually having.

I have been taking medication on and off for 4 years, but in the past half a year I have had no results, despite trying every kind of medication!

How long have you been taking the medications?

I have had an endoscopy, I have inflammation of my stomach (GERD) and esophagitis, but my doctor thought my symptoms would be alleviated by now with all the different medicines I have tried (nexium, omeprazole, prevacid). Yet still, none of these have brought relief!

Sorry to hear about your daughter, I can't imagine having such a problem from birth, poor thing!

have you had an endoscopy with biopsies to see if there is damage to your esophagus or if you have eosinophils?

My daughter was born with a hiatal hernia and even on medication, her esophagus was getting ulcerated at 8 months old.  she had a fundoplication  just before she turned 10 months old.

I also have severe reflux and have to have my esophagus dilated periodically and I have eosinophilic esophagitis.  I am hoping to have a fundoplication also.
