Gerd and Nissen question

Hi there...
I have severe throat sore since 2005...well it gradually increased...
I have a constant throat sore...and my tongue is very rough and sore.
I've seen a few ENT's and Gastro's.
So i had the Nissen operation done in 2008. Before that I've been on Nexium 40 twice a day.(still am)
The operation did not help...My throat is still sore...every morning. and tongue still rough.
It' hurts when i talk a lot....
I've done all the blood tests....Barium swallow...Tongue specialist says my tongue is fine...
Is my throat from GERD? I've asked the gastrologist if it's not that syndrome where my thorat starts producing acid...he says no...

Your story sounds so much like mine, it is scary!

I am going for my Nissen op on the 8th of Feb. and I have a lot of the symtoms (symptoms) that you do.  I have done manomatric tests and impedance studies and have seen an ENT and he did Laryxscope and they all came back as:  reflux.

I see you are from Midrand!  There is a very good Gastro Enterologist and a whole wing at the Pretoria East Hospital and I can refer you to Dr. Steyn.

Have you had manomatric and impedance study done before?
