Gerd?

Last week I was laughing at dinner and couldn't swallow. Everything came up. Ever since then my food feels like it will not go down and I am having reflux. I also feel like something is stuck in my throat. I feel like I have to stand for a long time after I eat. Has anyone had this before and how long does it take to get better?

It may not get better at all if left untreated. A doctor will probably tell you it is reflux and treat it with a prescription drug, but if you want to cure the problem and not just cover it up, you need to find out why you are getting reflux. Proper digestion is key, and as we get older, our bodies don't always work optimally, so they need a little help. A full spectrum digestive enzyme found at the health food store and taken with each meal is very helpful. Also, drinking aloe vera juice is great for digestion. If you are experiencing persistent heartburn, try charcoal capsules as needed. They absorb the acid before it can come up your throat and damage your esophagus. All can be found at health food store.

Hello I have Gerd and I have acid and food coming up constantly .  I also experienced pains in my throate, no DR.  could detect the problem unil I had a Endoscopy done. Thats a test where the DR. uses a scope with a light insterted into the throate to inspect for variouse stomach conditions. This test is a very valuable tool in finding Esophigitis,Hiatal Hernia and Gerd.  I have all the above conditions listed. I agree with the advice Jangela  gave you too. I had one more though  though Camomile Tea also has a claming effect on the stomach,  Yes it sounds like you have Gerd to me. Call your DR. and make a appointment to discuss your stomach  discomforts. Good luck and I hope your stomach will be happy soon.

I sometimes get that feeling that something is stuck in my throat.

It does sound like reflux.

You could visit your doctor and ask for advice.
