HEy question

hey, i am only 16 and i recently started feelign a lump in my throat.  Im scared to death of the doctor because i dont want to find out something bad like cancer.  I freakout whenever i feel it, and i only do wheni thinkabout it,buti dont kno what it is...can anyone help?

Sensation of lump in the throat is called ' Globus'.  It may be due to various reasons like  -
- GERD
- Muscle disorders
- Moods like grief and pride
- Esophageal webs
- Esophageal spasms
- Any real lump in the throat ( rare as you are just 16)

Meet a ENT specialist. He will visualize your throat to see if there is anything abnormal there.  He may refer you to an gastroenterologist/ endoscopist -if needed to rule out reflux and other problems of the
esophagus
