Heartburn after flu please help

Hi everyone I have a quick question. I just got over the flu I was sick for about 4 days I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I should be fine. But I'm not fine. Everytime I try to eat anything whether it's something soft like yogurt or something hard like regular food I end up getting severe pains in my stomach and it's followed by severe heartburn. Sometimes it feels like the food is stuck at the point where my esophigus meets my stomach. I can't eat anything and I wanna know if someone could help me. I've had heartburn before but like everyone else never anything major. Please help!

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

I am not sure y , but soooooo many after having the flu have been saying exactly the same thing.

Did he listen to the account of heartburn??

Make an appt with a GI dr and in the meantime ask ur Pharmacist about OTC meds like prilosec, or pepcid.

Please also read the lists of foods to avoid and lifestyle changes that aid the meds.......

The flu can be very devestating to our bodies......and I feel u need to be checked by a GI dr.

Was it the swine flu strain H1N1??
