Hiatal hernia with bleeding

I was diagnosed with small hiatal hernia 4 months ago in jan 2014.i was careful with my diet and was taking my medicines.2 weeks ago I felt sharp pain in my upper stomach and rushed to the toilet with diarrhea and lots of blood.the pain got worst and in 15 min i went 3 times to the toilet with blood only without stoll.the colour was maroon like not fresh red colour.I was scared to death. It was long weekend and husband was out of town so i couldn't go to hospital with 3 kids.I went to my dr after 4 days of bleeding and she said she wil refer me to the hospital for another endoscopy.
the only change i had in my routine in last 4 months was that i started lots of exercise after my 4/5 miles walk like crunches, squats 1000 jumping ropes etc.does these abs exercise make the situation worst?
I have strong history of cancer in my family.my sister passed awayat age of 34.my uncle and grandma both had stomach cancer.
im still waiting for hospital appointment but will be grateful if i get any help from this forum.
Thank you
shaz

Maroon colored blood might mean it was dark colored, as selmaS noted, dark blood is worrisome.  Like Selma, I'm not a health professional, but I'd mix in a Colonoscopy as well as repeat Endoscopy, and I'd ask for the procedures sooner than later.  Do keep us informed.

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.,

From what I understand  if u see red blood it is close to where u see it...so could be a polyp or fisher or hemoroid.....

If it is something internally it would be black and tarry....so it does not sound like it is something to concerning, but I am not a medical professional....and I do not think u would be waiting ....they would have gotten u in right away if they felt it was more of a concern.

Do keep us posted...wishing all the best.
