I know i have acid reflux or GERD . Last night i woke up with stomach cramps and then a sore throat , could this be from GERD ? And if so can i reduce my symptoms with the common cold cure-alls ? But most of the cold cures include vitamin C and lemon water . And websites i went on said no citrus fruits ! Is this possibly a common cold and if not can i treat it differently and get better faster ???
If I understand u correctly, u want to know if u can treat GERD/acid reflux with cold meds?
Not sure y u would feel this would work, as the meds for each issue work in ur body differently...meds for GERD like PPI's stop ur body form producing the acids that r made to break down the food u eat so there is less of it..with GERD and reflux we have too much acid...but u will only know that if a Dr has tested u and u had a PH done as having too little acid feels the same so if a Dr goes just by ur symptoms and not testing those meds will make u feel worse.
The best way to treat this is modify ur diet...eat more frequently but smaller meals, but avoid greasy, spicy, and acidic foods, same with bevs, no carbonated bevs, alcohol or caffeine....no smoking, eating late at night or laying down just after eating...wait 3 to 4 hrs...also u may want to try and elevate the head of ur bed since ur throat hurts that could be from acids moving up to ur throat....
SO see a Dr, get the testing make sure u r on the right meds for u, modify ur diet and lifestyle so u feel better...
