Is it a stomach bug?

I have been feeling unwell since last friday.  I have had stomach cramps, constant burning in my upper abdomen and chest and diarrhoea. I was on omeprazole but had to stop as having an endoscopy done on the 19th. The pain is radiating to my neck and shoulders and I feel very lethargic Has anyone got any ideas of what is happening or anything to alleviate the pain Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you

Thank you for your reply. I have a massive bottle of gaviscon extra but it is helping little. I think it does'nt help that I suffer from anxiety. I have had a bit of stress recently so I think this has aggravated my condition. Im also getting pain in my groin and down my legs. I was wondering if this anything to do with this also or is it unrelated or should I just stop worrying and wait for the endoscopy!!!

Hello Kath. Your upcoming endoscopy should be a huge help. It will either confirm or rule out conditions that can cause what you are experiencing, such as GERD, Gastritis, Peptic Ulcer, Duodenitis, and Esophagitis.

If the endoscopy comes back clear, then I would consider looking into issues with your gallbladder, pancreas, and even liver. All these organs can cause your symptoms if they are inflamed or diseased.

Food allergies, IBS, and IBDs should also be considered. To assist with the pain for now, try something like Maalox, Gaviscon, or Pepto Bismol. When I have a flare up of GERD one of those 3 things usually help me immensely. Good luck!
