Is my GERD surgery coming undone?

by tweety14n, Oct 19, 2009 10:11PM
I had GERD surgery back in Feb 08 as a result of about 2 years of numerous tests showing no problems and regurgitating stomach acid at random times with no cause. As well as numerous differnet over the counter, perscription and trial medications. I have had no problems with my GERD since my surgery however I still have chest pains and problems breathing that started at the same time as my acid problem. The doctors are still trying to figure out what is going on with that. However, the other day I felt like I was having mild heartburn. What is the likely hood that it has come undone already? Are there any suggestions about where the pain could be coming from and why?

Hi...may we ask which surgery u had...was it a Nissen for a hernia?

If so, that could explain y it took so long to dx, as some hiatal hernia's r hidden bcuz of the location they r in.

I do know that some have had their Nissen come undone....not sure of time frames, but u may have something else going on and I suggest u call ur GI dr .

Please update

Good luck
Godspeed
