Is the acid reflux surgery harmful even if you don't have acid reflux?

I did the bravo ph study about a week ago and the results just came back. My doctor said that my scores were very high. He says that he wants to schedule surgery, since I don't respond to meds. He also said that there are just a few things about my health that don't quite match up with acid reflux. Would it be harmful to have the acid reflux surgery if I didn't really have it? Thanks!

May I ask what surgery is ur dr referring to?.....if ur dr says it doesn't add up, ask then what can it be, if u don't know, do u have a colleauge that might have insight.

I would want to know more from the dr.
